  • Take the Landscape Tour

For centuries, the landscape of the Old Manse has sustained and inspired the people who lived here. This tour explores this special place through the eyes and words of its residents. It highlights their contributions to this ever-changing landscape and the history of this country. It is chronological, and visitors are encouraged to listen to the stops in order. The full tour should take less than an hour. Click on the map button to see all the stops and your location or return to the main menu to review a timeline of the residents of the Manse. After your tour outside, we encourage you to take a guided tour inside for a more in-depth history of the house and its inhabitants.

Special thanks to the Staff and Volunteers of the Old Manse, The Trustees Archives and Research Center and Cultural Resources Staff, and Lauren Meier, historic landscape researcher.
